No. We are bonded with CBP and file directly for N-registered aircraft, which is why the customs step moves at the same speed as the flight planning.

Can you act as importer or exporter of record?

Yes. Owners who want privacy on the entry, or who have no US entity to file under, can have us stand as importer or exporter of record.

What do you need to start a customs file?

Registration and serial number, the arrival or departure port and date, the aircraft documents including bill of sale where a transaction is involved, and the crew details for the manifest.

One desk for the flight and the border

Customs problems are usually timing problems. The manifest goes in late, the port is not approved for the arrival, or the entry paperwork does not match the aircraft documents. Because the same team files the flight plan and the customs paperwork, the arrival airport, the ETA and the entry are agreed together instead of in sequence.

Importing or exporting the aircraft itself

When the movement includes an actual importation or exportation, the customs step becomes a valuation, classification and documentation question rather than a formality. We handle that entry directly, and where an owner does not want to appear on the record, or has no US entity to appear with, we can stand as importer or exporter of record.
